Elysia Aravena-Woods Senior Classical Teacher

Elysia started ballet at the age of 5. She studied ballet under the guidance of Jo-Anne Ansell, Joanne Hocking, Julie Wells and Kim Traynor. As a young dancer, Elysia suffered a dramatic dance injury which meant she had to diversify. She was trained to become an assistant teacher and threw herself into helping students with exam preparation, rehearsals & productions.

With her passion for ballet still firmly in place, she decided to improve her skills and studied the Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS) with The Royal Academy of Dance. Elysia travelled to London in 2016 to complete and receive her qualification.

As an RAD Registered Teacher, Elysia has been freelance teaching for the past 7 years, teaching at several academies. Elysia has a love for preparing students for RAD Ballet exams and a particular enthusiasm about creating programs and doing whatever it takes for students to reap rewards.

She has had a high Distinction rate with students entered for RAD exams under her guidance. Elysia intends on continuing her studies with the Royal Academy of Dance and eventually becoming an RAD examiner.

Elysia is thrilled to have joined the faculty at The Conlan College and looks forward to sharing her experience with our students.
